Each episode will start with an answer of a question from my audience. Today’s question comes from Pam, she wants to know why her face appears wider than it was just a couple of years ago. She insists that her face was rather long and narrow. Great question and I am sure most of us will benefit from the answer.

Okay, so we have a wonderful guest later on coming on with a meditation and tricks on how to get our anxiety under control. But what I wanted to start is with answer each episode is going to start with a question. From the audience or my clients, which I want to answer publicly so to you, because it is applicable to most of us. So today in this time and a day, we are forced to look at ourselves in the screen. working from home has its perks, but it also has this advantages because when we look at ourselves for a couple minutes too long, staring at ourselves, actually, we discover things that we never seen before. And then we compare two pictures from 10 years ago and it is really depressing. So what I want to say is, first, stop staring at yourself, no one sees, no one really sees what you see. we criticize ourselves. for good reason, because we always want to look good, we want to feel good. But unfortunately, lack of sleep stress, lack of water or hydration of any sort can put us in the situation where we see dark circles, we see lines or our lips are dry, or we are just not able to concentrate. later on. I will show you ways of doing it naturally, how I have been, I have been successful in applying few things into my daily routine and recommending it to my clients at my facial spa. And they followed that too because it’s easy, anything that it’s easy, it’s it’s, it’s my favorite, okay. So we’re going to start from that looking at yourself. critically into the screen. And what do you see? Pam asks, What happened with my face? Why is my face looking wider at the job line? Now that I’m looking at myself, and I compared myself with a picture from a couple years ago, and my face was more narrow, it is not a joke. This is this is the very true, yes, stress causes us to clench our teeth. And as we clench our teeth, we also don’t talk, we just sit there and just get our work done. And then we don’t breathe, we just shallow breathers while stressed out. So all that accumulates and eventually when you clench your teeth the jawline widens because the TMJ which sits right here. It holds our jaw, the jaw.

So when we open the mouth, it exercises the jaw line and it exercises the jaw bone, and the muscles attached to it to stay elongated to stay, as it was meant to be staying like the way we are, you know, they way we were born to be. But over the course of time, and the stressful life that we lead in and work, maybe we have maybe we’re overworked, too. So all those things accumulated to the fact that the jaw line does not the jawbone does not lift and the muscles around it don’t stretch anymore. it collapses. So what happens is, it is goes wide, and we develop that little pouch under the chin. Unfortunately, everything goes south from then on. Okay, don’t panic, there is a solution and there is a very effective natural solution. And I’ve been working with women for the past 20 years. And one of the things that I address is the neck area, this area, so don’t even worry about it. But since you are not here in my facial spa, you are virtual I’m going to show you a couple tricks that I told Pamela to do, and I am doing myself when I drive to work. And then when I drive back from work when I’m sitting in a car for at least a half hour, that’s the time that I can use to relieve the stress. Breathe deeply, intentionally. Inhale slowly and then exhale as if you were blowing out a candle. Do it a couple of times every hour, and that will help to reduce the stress.

So here is one way you’ll stretch your jawline. Open your mouth, form an O with your lips and hold it for about five seconds. Repeat this until your jaw hinge gets tired until you feel like a little burn. So just repeat that until then.

By the way, you can put the radio on so if someone is looking at you, you will look like you’re you’re singing. So don’t worry about the onlookers. Okay, after you get tired with this, you can then create a little muscle in the cheek muscles. So when the cheeks collapse a little bit that will strengthen the cheek muscle and fill in. So what you do first is suck in the air.

Yeah, I must look really funny right now. Take a breath in and suck the cheeks in. Hold it for 5 seconds. Let it go. Repeat until your muscles get tired. And then do the opposite, blow the air into the cheeks and hold for 5 seconds. Repeat until muscles get tired. And the last one is blowing out the air through not-so-tightly-closed lips. Repeat a couple times and start over.

Your face is a resident to 50 plus muscles. It varies because different people have different genetic predispositions and makeup. So that’s why I say 50 plus because not everybody has the same exactly muscles. You can have one or two extras but those muscles that we are using right now are present in everyone.

Also, when you are looking at the phone too many times, your neck is always dragging down. So if you really addicted to checking your text messaging and looking at the phone for messages, raise the phone by half an inch, your neck should be parallel to the surface you’re looking at. So if you’re looking at the keyboard or your computer, you’re working on a computer. Try not to do this because your neck is going to tell you that this is wrong. It will show lines he may show a pouch under and it’s just not going to look good after a certain period of time. But remember, it’s fixable. And you can ask me about that. At the bottom of there was a chat room. If you’d like to participate in the chat room, please do that ask me questions and I can lead you in a direction where I can help you even virtually. So for now, let’s just trust me and kind of memorize those couple exercises that I just showed you. So breath is first first you have to bring enough oxygen to your body so that it can work with your muscles. Because when your muscles when when you are deprived of fresh oxygen, and you just collect toxins in your body, you are not able to make your muscles do what you want them to do. By the way, the breath out is more important than breath in because every day, every second of the day, we produce toxins. It’s metabolic, you know, byproducts that are accumulating in ourselves and then the cells get rid of it to our body and then we are to Breathe it out. Otherwise we get head stress. So please Breathe in, breathe out intentionally. After about a week or two of practicing this you’ll look at your mirror and notice your face changed. If it isn’t, you just have to do more of that. Okay.

So now that you are looking at yourself and you’re seeing beautiful you but stressed you tensed up, I want to introduce you to Shelley Astrof. She lives in Himalayas in India, so that must be amazing to see the mountains every day and breathe into that energy. Shelley is a doctor of meditation. What can she teach us? Hello, Shelly. And we are so wanting to know, after we got the looks covered, we now need to feel good. What can we do?

Absolutely. First of all, I loved your presentation and your breathing techniques. They’ll not only help you look better, but they’ll actually make you feel better. I was really appreciating when you were talking about looking at yourself in the picture. Because as you see yourself in a picture of maybe a few years ago are many years ago, who you who you are in the picture has changed. And you know, you’ve changed, having been a child, and you’ve changed even a picture from a few years ago, your mind has changed, your body has changed, your situations have changed. But what is it inside you that knows that that is you. And that one is yourself. And we’ll call it the knower because it knows for sure who you are. And that one is undisturbed by all the happenings that go on in the world. And it because it was you knowing you as a child and knowing you last year, and and it’s watching the changes, the body’s changed, the mind has changed, but that center of who you are That center is your intelligence, it’s your peace. It’s that sense of love, of ease.

So shall we say that we can talk to that inner child or the knower and tell him/her that we don’t like what we see and we would like to change that. Is that possible to return to where we were just a couple years ago.

It’s it’s absolutely possible, but it’s not that you’re, it’s actually who you really are. All these coverings are not who you are. They keep changing. And whatever keeps changing isn’t who you really are. It’s who you’ve been. It’s who you’re going to be, but who you really are, is watching that. And by focusing on that center in yourself, you can you can take all those etchings that happen in your face. And you can breathe that beautiful life into yourself. One of the ways when you are talking about breath, there’s I thought to just mention another another technique of doing it. A set, just a very simple meditation technique. If you’re just watching your breath you’re breathing in. And then just before you breathe out, there’s a little pause. And then you breathe out. And there’s a little pause and you breathe in and pause. At some point. Just focus on the pause. Hold it for a few seconds, and continue. The thing about the pauses. The movement of breath is linked to the movement of your mind and when you Cause your mind calms. So breathing is is an excellent technique and just taking that focus on that pause that can calm the whole system down. If you don’t have to do it for very long.

Perfect, Shelley, I need to qualify that before I was doing the exercise while driving so yeah, don’t meditate while driving. But now that we’re sitting on the mountain we can. Yes we can now go into relaxing when sitting at the pool on the porch, drinking a glass of wine or drinking a cup of tea, whatever it is, or having a diffuser with essential oils. By the way, lavender is an amazing essential oils. Lavender essential oil is my favorite. What about sage essential oil, is it true that it is used to clear the energies and clarify the space.

I know many people who use it this way, I have a sage growing in my garden and I have a lavender plant. So it doesn’t matter what it is as long as it is the essence of the plant.

Whenever I pick the lavender plant. I just crash it in my fingers and inhale the essence of it. I use therapeutic essential oils from doTERRA and they are wonderful. https://doterra.me/fVab4DEH

Just one drop of it is just like a pure essence. So you can use for anything, you can even digest those essential oils.

Okay, so we have a wonderful guest later on coming on with a meditation and tricks on how to get our anxiety under control. That you get that Okay, perfect. So you do this until you get tired again and then you go back to notice my lips, you have to kind of make an O when you do this because you need to stretch a lot of different muscles. Your face is a read resident to 50 plus muscles. It varies because different people of course, they have different genetic predispositions and makeup. Absolutely. First of all, I loved your presentation and I left your breathing techniques. They’ll not only help you look better, but they’ll actually make you feel better. Yes, they really well. And I, I was really appreciating when you were talking about looking at yourself in the picture. Just a drop of it is just like an essence. So you can use for anything, you can even digest that. And that’s also relaxing. I’m going to have a link on the bottom if you want to try those oils, you can do that as well. So please, Shelley, give us those three ways of counting, calming our anxiety and worry on a daily basis.

Okay, well, meditation can absolutely calm the anxiety and stress that’s happening in you. And one of the ways is the way that I’ve just expressed about holding the pause in the breath. And if you close your eyes, and just watch your breath pause, and you’ll feel that if you hold your attention on that pause, he will calm your whole nervous system down. Another way is through sound and meaning. So, if you think about I remember seeing a commercial many years ago, and there was an opera singer who held the this note for a period of time, and they were showing that the note shattered the glass or the crystal. And if, if sound vibration can shatter the glass, sound vibration that happens inside can shatter the thoughts and the anxiety thoughts that hold you down and make you upset. But you can use any sound that makes you feel good and you use it with intent. You can hold the word PEACE and you can do it in whatever language you feel most comfortable where and inside you can say it outside but if you repeat it in your mind, peace, peace and hold, hold the thought.

First for a few moments it will start to enter your whole being. And if you watch yourself as the one who is the repeater of the thought, the repeater of peace you’re Going to hold that inner energy and ignite that sense of peace within you. And the third one that I absolutely love to do is if you close your eyes and put a smile on your face, and as soon as you do that your back will go straight and your space will change. And you can wait and watch whether you’re anxious or upset, whatever thoughts are coming. You know that that those thoughts will also go they won’t last. They’ll come ml go. You don’t have to get engaged in your thoughts or be part of it. Just Just watch them like a cloud comes across the sky and then it moves Long be that sky space because who that is, is you’re paying attention to your own cell, the knower. And if you do that for a few minutes, your whole being calms down, and your mind becomes lighter and enlightened with that state of who you are inside, which is that being a light of peace of ease, and that is your true nature and who you really are. So I hope, I hope that that helped, because one thing that I’ve noticed is that through meditation for myself, and I’ve seen that on certain days when I’m a little bit anxious or upset, You know, my skin gets a little pasty and I look a little bit older. And when I’m feeling that sense of brightness all the sudden, I, I feel better and the lines somehow seem to disappear magically.

And meditation can absolutely help with your beauty regime. It’s kind of like a spa for your soul.

So you said that repeating the word of your choice, and in this case, peace, just meditate on that word, but you can use any other word that you that makes you happy, right?

So are you saying that when we get to be a little bit anxious, we can quickly get ourselves in gear by just closing the eyes? Take a deep breath and repeat the word of choice, which is peace in your case.

You don’t have to meditate for hours you can meditate for like five, seven minutes. And it when you connect, you connect and then your whole mind, body your whole Nervous System settles down. So so if you hold that word in your mind, so your senses have settled down and you’re holding peace and you keep it repeating and repeating and that peace with your your intention actually begin to enter your being and calm you down.

Everything is fixable. Trust me, Shelly can fix your mind and body and I can fix your face. So we can talk about this.

knower.ca/classes Join me for a free class on Saturday the 12th..

But if you’re going outwards, then you’ll be affected by if, if something happens if a bird comes and eat something that you don’t like, or makes you upset. So, if you, if you close down your senses just for a little while, they’re not going anywhere, your senses are still there, but you close your eyes and you let your let everything relax. And then your mind which is having the input from the senses, it begins to relax. And that is when meditation begins, is when, when you are going inward, taking that inward journey into your own self. And it’s very easy to just watch and then That one identify that one with that one who is watching and that one is your own self. The Knower and that is where your peace and ease lives and it does wonders for that your little wrinkles on your face I promise you that. Embrace it and love it.

Perfect. So thank you so much. So we are on on them a little bit late schedule, but it’s a half hour now, what I wanted to ask you, Shelly, please, in the chat room, put your actually I can actually add this to our banner. So you have a free course. Yes. That you’re offering on a Facebook for us if we would like to do a little bit of forgiving ourselves or getting ourselves out of that zone of I don’t look good, I look older.

Everything is fixable. Trust me, Shelly can fix your mind and body and I can fix your face. So we can talk about this.

3 Ways Of Erasing Skin Aging Naturally

Body Mind Spirit

Welcome to your face story. I’m Yolanda Russo, skincare expert and founder of Beauty On Command Natural Facelift. I believe the Mother Nature is here on our side and the ability to self repair allows anyone to reverThis signs of aging naturally, why am I talking about it? It is because recently I’ve been asked a lot of questions about anti aging quick fixes, beauty elixirs, vampire facials, and other things in that category. We are meant to self repair, we can heal ourselves and our face is a reflection of our state of being. So don’t look for creams and lotions and potions and needles to fix your face where you have to really take it from inside out. And we are going to be going into that a little later on. But the most important thing is you have to feel good in order to look good. So if you’re not feeling good Don’t even go outside because you’re not going to look good. Don’t put makeup on, because you’re going to put too much. So get yourself aligned, get yourself grounded. Breathe out or do whatever you’ve learned in the past. Yoga, a lot of you have taken classes, right? We’re going to be talking about it later on. So anything that you can apply to get yourself out of the mood. Or if you have to stay in the mood, you’re allowed to fear, face your emotions, don’t discard them. Okay, so that said, If you survive the last six months, you can survive anything. So trust me, we can take it from here, and let’s move on. So it’s September back to work back to school and you’re looking at yourself and deciding that you’ve aged, and you must look like your mom by now. That’s true. It might be. It might be true, but it’s reversible.

And I see women in their 70s and 80s. Look 10 years younger after they apply the principles that I teach, and methods that I actually hand them to you that you take it home and you practice you practice and you use home remedies. I like to use kitchen to our advantage. So whenever you make a green juice, you drink it, you supply nutrients to your body, and take the rest of it what’s in the cup and put it all over the face and the face is going to be happy and glowing. Your body is going to be glowing. Same applies to smoothies. Just anything you can eat, and, and you enjoy eating because there are some foods that I’m going to say don’t eat them, because if you’re not digesting them, you don’t want them on the face, because you will get sensitive to it. Avocados, blueberries, yogurts, green juices, even egg yolk. DIY’s are wonderful but there is more of the help available to you when you find a skin care professional who can lead you in the direction of success to get your skin on on the right path. So not only that, you can look good and everybody’s going to be jealous and wondering, have you gotten this Vampire Facial or this is you. So it Just trust me, there is a way and everything is repairable, nothing is permanent. And that is up to you. Because once you decide is permanent it will be. So I want to give you this piece of hope.

It seems like the quarantine is over and we are beginning to move around more and and noticing that people are kinder and have more passion for life. I don’t see people glued to their phones any longer, everyone seem to be more present. Now I see people looking at each other actually caring about each other. And I like that if that was the change that we needed. Okay, so I’m going to give you the title of our talk is three ways of erasing those signs of aging. So the first one I already mentioned is DIY. You have this at home, you can do this every single day. Just find a way of getting healthier, and then use this on your face. So that’s how simple So the second thing is that looking for those elixirs of youth, because you don’t need 10 million products on your face. You actually need three, the cleanser, the serum which is full of nutrients to stimulate collagen and the moisturizer. That’s it. So of course the eye moisturizer so These are the two things, three things. And then the third step is self care. You should be an expert on yoga by now everyone on the planet took yoga classes, and you found a way of finding the right instructor because not everyone fits your style. So by now you know which way to go to get yourself more in balance more in harmony with your body with the environment.

Let me introduce to today’s guest, Kristi Sullivan. She’s an expert on self care. Kristi co authored a book The Great Pause during the time when everyone needed some hope. Thank you.Yes, yes, thank you for mentioning the book. It’s a great book that just came out in the last two weeks, and Amazon but you can also always contact me for a copy, but it’s called the Great pause. And really the author’s that came together and they were about 20 to 25 of us who each wrote a chapter about how we are seeing this pandemic and this isolation since March. And I think the theme that runs through it is that this is a time to pause and a great time to take a view inside at our inner selves, which I love goes very hand in hand with what you’re talking about with not just outer beauty, but the inner beauty. So looking at At this time as a way to enter, reflect, and for me in my chapter I talk about self care as a great way for people to women, especially these days to understand how to nurture themselves take care of themselves, and what they need from the inside out. And there is so much going on so much stress and and overwhelm for people during these last few months. But it also is an opportunity for us to slow down and perhaps do things like take that yoga class if you haven’t taken it, or try those three products like you’re talking about and do things for yourself that are that is really nurturing and important to us right now. And I think now, most of us are looking into the world of virtual everything. So with that, I want to mention that if you are not in the vicinity of my facial spa, you can now have a virtual consultation with me and I will lead you through the steps to get yourself out and do things for yourself for your skin, of course, and then you can reverse some of the signs of aging on your own. So, I am going to post the link later on to show you where where you can book the appointment, let me just see. Okay, and now we’re going to talk about the link Later on, I’m going to put it in a chat room.

So right now I’m going to ask Kristi about tips on how to prepare for relaxation and what to do and how we can actually do that at home.Yeah, it’s important right now that we find ways to do things. Perhaps it’s right here at home, or right outside our door. And you mentioned something called human design that I’ve studied where we’re all very different energy. We’re all energetic beings. Maybe this is new for you, but with different energy, maybe different. Self Care is is needed. Not the same for necessarily everyone but I’ll talk about some that you can do at home. But like Yolanda even mentioned, sometimes finding not just the right type of yoga style, but even a different instructor that really fits for your energy is important. So right now is a great time to try different things. Maybe going online to maybe do some yoga and find a style that you like. I love that idea to have the green juice because that’s self care too. And making sure you find there’s so many different ways to do green juice. What do you like what is your body like? And I love that tip of of adding it to your face as well at the end. So self care is customized and whether you’re doing skincare self care with Yolanda and finding out what fits your skin or I offer also a online self care platform to help you find what fits you but self care is important too. do every day, even if it’s just for a few minutes a day. It’s important, it’s essential. And we need to make it a priority instead of a reward. So rather than say, Oh, I did so well, this week, I did good my business, or now it’s time to have a reward of a massage or yoga or a facial. It’s important to actually say, wait a second, the self care has to be come every day as a priority. And it’s and it’s essential. So even taking a few breaths at home and we’ll do that practice in a little bit too so that you can take a few breaths and just do a few moments of self care. And repeat that daily. You’d be so happy because you can apply this to every step. Every step you do during the course of the day, the breathing, the other, the exercise, stretching, drinking, water, juicing, all those little things add up. So I wanted to ask you, Kristi, what is Self Care? Yeah, I love You’re showing this this slide with a few examples. It could be having that green juice in the morning, staying hydrated through the day. Being aware of your feelings and taking care of your emotions. So maybe throughout the day, just even if you need to set a timer just so that you bring some attention back to yourself. healthy foods are so important. What are you eating, noticing what you’re eating, and maybe you’re also Planning ahead and saying these are the you know, things I’m going to do during this week. Spending time outside nature can be so healing. So maybe scheduling some time in for a walk maybe in the morning maybe at lunchtime or right in the evening. Also reflecting what is important and I love that you have this giving love to yourself forgiving yourself. Maybe it’s reflecting back on things that you’re that don’t make you feel good and understanding about them and then accepting and also releasing those things. So it can be various things and maybe it’s a little bit every day have something different so that your energy then becomes more vibrant from the inside out. Love yourself so that you can love others. Forgive yourself so that you can forgive others, except yourself so that you can accept others. And it is so true. And yes, this is going to stay there. And that’s going to be marked as post COVID mentality. That is a great point that what you do for yourself has a ripple effect on others. When you give yourself love, it’s easier to love others when you forgive yourself. You can forgive others, and it starts more powerfully on the inside. And when you do that, it’s like putting what I say the oxygen mask on your face. That is so true. I think we have grown up in a culture where women encouraged to focus on others before themselves. And this is why we have such a hard time accepting the fact that put the oxygen mask on yourself first. . And yes, you have the permission from the universe to take care of You. So, can we ask you to please lead us in a direction of that the preparation for yoga or for anything else that we do if you don’t like yoga, then meditation, everything is applicable. The first thing is probably the breath and getting yourself aligned grounded. Absolutely and actually, Yoga means connection with mind and body and spirit. And meditation is a way to do that. But breathing is also another way as is the yoga that you know, which is moving into Stretching. But what I want to talk about is a way to just take a few moments of self care by breathing. So we’re going to let go and do a few breaths. Is that okay? We’ll do it right now. Yeah. So if your viewers wherever they are, and if you’re driving, don’t do this. But if you’re seated in a house or office, you can place your feet on the floor and close the eyes and, and stay tall with your spine. And I’m going to have you just take a nice breath in through your nose breathe out through the mouth. Make it nice and long. Take another inhale. Exhale through the mouth and let your shoulders relax. And we’ll just do a few more at this time. Just breathe through the nose, in and out. Just feel your feet. As you take these breaths, very simple, no need to do anything else. And we’ll end with one more deep breath in through the nose out through the nose.Just notice if you’re feeling any calmer. And then when you’re ready, you can open the eyes. Let go and relax. Yes, I feel that. I prefer to have no shoes when I do the breathing I feel more grounded. Well, the’s actually true because the rubber soles cut off the connection with the source. So if you can be barefoot, even in the morning, your self care could be walking outside in the grass for a few minutes. Go and enjoy the walks in the morning especially on grass bare feet. So now I have no excuse, and I enjoy it thoroughly and I think that’s really really refreshing. Because the, the foot has a lot of receptors just like our body, our face, it has a lot of receptors that if stimulated, they can relax you, or reground you pretty instantly. so wonderful. Okay, so I am so, so happy to meet you, Kristi. And I wanted to know if people want to follow you or find a way to get to take your class or, or do something such as human design, which I don’t know if many people know what that is. Butif you wanted to touch on it, what is human design?Yeah, and I just left in the chat where peoplecan find me on facebook and join a free group for information on an inspiration on self care. It’s called Kristi’s self care tribe, our friend, as I mentioned, if you’re customizing self care and you want to understand what are the best ways for you for your energy to receive that self care, I do something called human designing integrate that in which is understanding your energetic blueprint, helping you get into the body and understand it’s much more in depth than let’s say astrology. It’s about you specifically, and what you were included or programmed back when you were born into this earth plane. So it’s, it’s a really great and complex system, but I help guide you in just some information that can be helpful to living your design and living in an easy way to more authentically and To live your best life.I love that it’s very complicated when I was being explained when someone was explaining this to me, so I kind of gave up on trying to understand it. And I said, Okay, so let’s have a session. So I did have a session, and I do understand now what it means.

Oh, I like you took my business also online during COVID. So I do Human Design virtually by zoom. I also teach yoga online Tuesday and Thursday mornings and other times during the week online. And also I have a self care membership I mentioned which is all virtual. I have groups and coaching that I do one on one.Yeah, so I love that because now people will be attached to the phones looking for some self help and people who In their vicinity who are aligning with their purpose, not the headlines, not the steady diet of negative news or the phone that constantly things for no reason. So I prefer this virtual than the previous virtual. In closing, attempt to connect the body and mind into one. The face is part of it.

Look younger and feel younger naturally.

Welcome. Before I begin, as you know, I am a skincare expert, not a doctor, all of the content on this podcast is intended for informational purposes only, please use common sense. And if you need any other help or a medical help, please seek an advice from your physician. Today I wanted to talk about exfoliation and the need for it and why is it important to exfoliate, there is a deeper subject to exfoliation than just resurfacing the face, and your body.

According to research, our biological age can appear different from chronological age, and that is purely because every cell in our body replaces itself over the course of seven to 10 years. That is so interesting, our bones, our organs, our veins, everything is recycled. Just look at your hair and nails. That means we need to maintain that from outside, and also from the inside. The Healthier You are the quicker your hair grows that you notice, so now you know why you need to exfoliate, so even if you are visiting the spa once a month you still have to do something at home on a weekly basis, or if you have a great cleanser, such as ours, the Triple Exfoliating Cleanser that you can use every other day and it’s just the skin. It melts the skin, the dry skin off of your face without any irritation.

As a home remedy, you can use freshly squeezed lemon juice. So, what does exfoliation mean for the skin for the face, and the body, it simply means that the skin is going to breathe is going to absorb the nutrients from the products that you apply, much more readily, When you are young the skin exfoliates itself you don’t really need to help it, it always looks glowing. But at some point of life, conditions like stress, some damage or other things slow down the process of removing the dead skin cell cells and that’s why we need to help it.

The physical exfoliants are cleansing scrubs the harsh gritty stuff, or loofahs. That’s the two common methods of DIY exfoliation at home. They’re very economical and mostly used by young people. I would also include the electrical brush that it’s sold everywhere that falls into the category of physical exfoliation, and it is, even though it’s looks innocent, it is harsh.

So, anyone after 35 should definitely pull back on the physical exfoliation altogether and use the other form of exfoliation which I’m going to mention later. So young, skin has a lot of oils, and it’s much thicker, so it can it can definitely tolerate all this. However, if the next day after exfoliation if you notice your skin is red, itchy, or patchy pullback on exfoliation, do it less frequently, or even don’t rub it as hard as you do now That’s for exfoliation for young skin for oily skin, anybody after 35 should use chemical exfoliation, which is gels, I like fruit acids. I love the fruit acids in cleansers moisturizers, and even serums. Salicylic acid is one of them and it’s best for a younger skin. Glycolic acid and Citric acid Lactic acid, those are those fruit acids are perfect for skin that is aging and it shows, less radiant skin more kind of patchy skin.

When you see wrinkles that is not necessarily a sign of aging, as much as the deposits might be residing on a surface, and they need to be simply exfoliated. So I like the exfoliation at the spa, of course Glycolic peels, Lactic peels, or even microdermabrasion very very good exfoliating treatment.

When you are at home and you just want to do something for yourself at home as I said earlier, you can definitely do a lemon juice lemon juice is a citric acid, which is also very beneficial for the skin, but it’s not stable so don’t save the citric lemon juice for tomorrow. Use it up, you don’t have to use it just on a face you can use it on your hair you can use it on your hands on your chest, anywhere you want exfoliation. Let’s talk about some fun stuff now and whip out our own body scrubs. At times your body feels itchy dry and flaky just as our face does And that’s why it is so important that at least once a week, you exfoliate your body in the shower.

First, if you’re a coffee drinker, you can use coffee grinds from your morning coffee. If you’re not a coffee drinker, you can use rounded flax seed for this dry scrub. For the coffee grinds scrub to be effective, your skin must be dry, don’t wet the skin. So ideally jump into the shower. Add a shower gel to your coffee grinds and scrub your skin with some washcloth or something, just in a circular motion. Do it for like two minutes, make sure you get everywhere, including your feet so you don’t. So the feet don’t miss out on that it is going to be so rewarding because the skin is going to be so moisturize afterwards. I don’t know what it is in the coffee grinds, but it’s just your skin gets moisturize at the same time as it is exfoliated.

Alternatively, if you don’t like the mess the coffee makes you can use brown sugar, so do the same brown sugar with the coffee with the shower gel. And that makes it a perfect scrub. It’s a little harsher than I would like to see but you will you will get the hang of it, once you try a few different kinds.

One more exfoliation that it’s excellent for the whole body, the face, the hair, the skin. it’s actually a buttermilk –not a yogurt. So if you are a buttermilk drinker if you know what this is. It contains lactic acid it’s excellent for exfoliation.

Again, thanks for listening, and we’ll see you in the next episode. Don’t forget to subscribe and share it with your friends. When I first started in my skincare business, two decades ago, I wanted to use the best skincare I could find. I wanted my clients to leave my facial room amazed. Needless to say, I wasn’t happy with anything out there, and that’s when I decided to create my own products that are safe, effective, and clinically tested to work .And that’s when Beauty On Command was born. My clients love it and I know you will love it too. If you’re on a market for a new cleanser or a new moisturizer head on to www.safenaturalskincare.com and click on a BOC SkinCare page and take a look at the product ingredients yourself.

Podcast: Benefits Of Skin Exfoliation

It’s never too late. We have a choice and it is given to us by life itself and here is why.

According to research our biological age can appear different from the chronological age and that is because almost every cell in our body replaces itself over the course of 7-10 years. Dr. Northrup, women’s health advocate, talks about how our thoughts and beliefs affect our well-being. Thanks to the knowledge through epigenetics, scientists agree that heredity has a small impact on our life as it is only 20%-30% of who we are and who we’ll become. And that means we do have lots of control over the present and the future because the remaining balance 70%-80% is influenced by the lifestyle we lead. If your father frowns a lot, you are not destined to do the same only if you choose to do so. All we need to do is decide to be healthy, look younger while making small efforts each day towards those goals to succeed. Eckhart Tolle in his book The Power Of Now talks about it and says that our thoughts are more powerful that anything else out there. So think positive and strive to start your day with a powerful meditation or a gratitude session to set the tone for the day to come. Not only you’ll have a great day but everyone around you will be uplifted. Listen to this relaxing music below anytime to look and feel good.

Gift From Yolanda: Relax

The process of exfoliation helps to speed up cell rejuvenation by sloughing the old, dry and flaky skin cells to bring life to a healthy and more radiant cells. Let’s talk about the benefits of skin exfoliation, what to use, how often etc. Exfoliation speeds up the regeneration of the skin, making it look clear, younger and stronger. It is a first line of defense against wrinkles, dark spots, acne breakouts and acne scars.

Exfoliation helps the skin to breathe.

There are two kinds of exfoliants:

  • Gel exfoliants such as fruit acids that are mild irritants. AHA’s and other that can be used once a week or twice a week.
  • Sandy, gritty exfoliators and electric brushes which are more invasive and should be used less frequently.

When you read a spa menu, you notice facial peel and microdermabrasion under the exfoliating facial treatments. Both are perfect for any skin and are safe to use for anybody. Microdermabrasion should be avoided during the summer months as it exposes the skin to sun damage.

What can you do at home to exfoliate the skin? You’ve probably tried the gritty and harsh exfoliants in the past and know that the skin gets too irritated and red when you used them too often. As we get older we need to exfoliate the skin more often but only use gel exfoliants as the skin is thinning out already and can’t tolerate those strong scrubs. And that applies to the electric brushes too, they may look innocent but when used to often they remove more than just the dead skin from the surface. If you already have this brush, please use it no more than once a week or every two weeks.

You can easily whip out your own facial peel made of nothing else but a fruit acid from a fresh lemon. Squeeze the lemon into a glass container and use it on a freshly cleansed skin. Since this is a citric acid you don’t want any metal touching it. Remove it with cool water after 5 min and apply your serum and a moisturizer. Make sure to avoid the eye area. You can store the juice in the tightly closed container(glass or plastic) for 72 hours. Apply it every night for three days. Make sure to use a sunscreen every day to preserve your perfectly radiant looking skin.

How often do you do those peels? Every two weeks and try to schedule a facial at least once every three months if you are 30 something and once a month anytime after you turn 40 years old.

After two decades of working in the skin care industry, I can unequivocally say that skin aging can be reversed naturally. It doesn’t matter what age you are, if you follow the the well rounded plan given to you by your skin care professional and keep your mind free of clutter of the past, you’ll look and feel younger.

Home care is just as important as in-spa care. You need to have the right skin care products to support the skin, exfoliation is very important and a fruit acid based cleanser similar to BOC Triple Exfoliating Cleanser is best as it helps the skin to melt away the dead skin cells without irritating the skin. Vit C or retinol are other great product that support skin rejuvenation.

Natural Solutions For Dark Circles

Welcome to spring of 2020. As we are still under a ‘house arrest’ thanks to coronavirus, I am getting creative in reaching my audience by implementing a podcast Safe Natural Skin Care and Video Consultations.

What are you doing with all that extra time, are you finding anything positive while spending the time alone and becoming more present? I did, and here are three awesome things that make it all worthwhile:

  • The pollution levels have dropped so dramatically that people in India, for the first time in 30 years, can see the can Himalayas in its full glory. We are contributing to making a world a better place. Great job people.
  • I am finding that I actually love my house! I am so grateful for having a save and loving place to call home. Up until just a month ago I was too busy to notice.
  • I love spring but don’t like the allergy symptoms that come with it. It looks like this year we are going to escape the side effects of freshly blooming plants and its release of pollen that is a major trigger of seasonal allergies.

Let’s talk about the impact of stress and lack of physical activity on the skin during the current self quarantine orders.

Your face is a resident to 50 muscles and 20 of them are expression muscles. The sole purpose of these muscles is to assist in expressing emotions. In order for those muscles to hold the face firm you need to use them. If you can’t laugh right now, I understand, but you can probably watch a comedy and brighten your mood instead of news alerts about the coronavirus. According to science, the act of laughing or a simple smile can trigger a release of a happy chemicals which can instantly improve the mood. As a result you may appear more radiant and more approachable.

What about your eye area, do you look tired? Is there a natural solution for dark circles?

The eyes are the window to the soul, we want to look HAPPY not TIRED.

The skin surrounding the eyes is extremely thin in relation to the rest of the skin on our body. Although the skin on the lips have a very similar structure and I’d recommend using a good eye cream on your lips to keep them hydrated instead of using those sticky, waxy products you might have used in the past.

As we age, the skin ages too. Skin sagging causes wrinkles and they are enhanced when you have dark circles. But there is a lot we can do to maintain this delicate area of the skin.

Occasional dark circles, or those that come and go are easy to work with and can be helped by making small adjustments in our lifestyle and creating an addition to our home care routine in a form of a gentle tapping massage. To see how it is done see the video above this post. Incidentally at the time of the video recording I had woken up with a terrible sinus congestion and you’ll notice how I use the tapping to help my puffy eyes.

The truth is that our face doesn’t hide our stories, we can see it clearly the day that you don’t feel good, or when you didn’t get enough sleep by looking tired. The good news is that as soon as you catch up on sleep your face and your eyes look great. So what’s the secret to natural solutions for dark circles? Be good to yourself.

Of course there are other reasons why we develop dark circles-seasonal allergies are those most frequently experienced by many people during spring and fall season. If you don’t know what triggers your allergies you might want to check with your allergist to find out what exactly you should avoid and help your body stay healthy.

One of the old remedies passed on to me by my European grandmother is a local honey cure. The old saying goes, unless you are allergic to honey this is one home treatment that works every time. The fact is that bees collect the same pollen we are sensitive to makes it a perfect antidote to those uncomfortable spring congestions and puffy eyes.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post and don’t forget to subscribe to my podcast and have your questions answered live during the next episode. In addition to home remedies I recommend BOC Under Eye Shadow Eraser for both, puffy eyes and dark circles. My clients love it and you’ll love it too.

What Is Your Face Story?

Are you noticing frown lines? Wrinkles? Freckles are becoming dark spots?

Do you have a question about your skin?

Human face has over 20 muscles leading to hundreds of unique facial expressions. Those muscles attach directly to the skin and as a result we get many unwanted side effects caused by prolonged or repetitive expressions. Today, many people choose to get injections or some other procedure to erase the expression lines, others are looking for an alternative way to soften the lines as they don’t want to take any risk of looking unnatural. The good news is, you have a choice and that is given to you by Mother Nature. The Beauty On Command Method gives you guidance and tools on how to help your skin look younger NATURALLY. Please post your question on Contact Us page or request a Virtual Consultation with me, Yolanda, so that I can see your skin and can quickly help you understand what is happening and how you can repair the skin damage.

How do we get wrinkles? Our body is held together by a glue-like substance, collagen and elastin, which allows the skin to return to its original shape quickly. Up until age of 25, our body supports us unconditionally as it produces the collagen and other nutrients at a steady pace awarding us with a forever radiant complexion. As we age we begin to lose collagen at the rate of 1% and if you are overexposing the skin to the sun it can even deplete itself up to 2%. As a result, the skin becomes thinner and less ‘springy’ as we age. Remember crinkles around the eyes eventually become wrinkles unless you help your body to get stronger. How do you do that? By simply nutrifying the skin from the inside, getting enough sleep and then protecting the skin with SPF. If you feel you want to begin using an eye cream then you’ll rebuild the skin’s strength from the outside.

Nothing in worth having if you don’t make an effort …

 Theodore Roosevelt

But there is hope, your own efforts leading to improving your lifestyle and remembering to be happy and optimistic towards life will help to preserve and make new collagen for years to come. And I, as a skin care expert, can lead you into the direction of your dreams into having a perfectly smooth and radiant skin for as long as you wish.

I invite you to join my podcast Safe Natural Skin Care (scroll down to the bottom of the page to hear it now) where in each episode I will answer one question from my listeners on ways to deal with acne or skin aging naturally.

Welcome to Your Face Story Podcast

Yolanda Russo, skin care expert at Speranzi Facial Spa and creator of Beauty On Command shares practical, educational and encouraging content that saves you money and time when looking for natural solutions to younger and more radiant skin!

Thanks to unexpected pause on life caused by coronavirus I am finally ready to offer beauty wellness advice and share my knowledge with many more people who are looking for natural solutions to beauty.

Take a deep breath and enjoy.

In my first episode I talk about spring cleaning for your body and mind in addition to your face. I want to show you how you can use up all of the skin care products you have purchased and never liked how they feel on the skin. Many products you have bought from the informarcials hoping you’ll look like the celebrity promoting those lotions and potions. What you don’t realize is that they get a facial often, maybe every week but especially the day off a performance. So their skin looks perfect and they can sell pretty much any skin care.

So what do you do with those products? You don’t want to throw them out so let’s repurpose them. Any facial exfoliating product we can use on the top of the hands and the neck/chest area, body exfoliants you can use on the rest of the body and your feet. The skin on the neck/chest/hands is extremely delicate and won’t tolerate a harsh exfoliant so please make sure you only use a facial product on those areas. The hands and the neck give away your age before the face does. If you don’t have an exfoliant good for those areas you can use a freshly squeezed lemon juice or purchase Triple Exfoliating Cleanser, our most favorite product.

If you have any face cream that feels too heavy and makes you feel sticky, you are right, it should not be used on the face. It will make your pores large and your makeup will slide off your face.

For more about the spring cleaning for body and mind and your face listen to my first episode of my Your Face Story Podcast. Make sure to subscribe to be notified about weekly episodes based on me answering questions of my listeners and those who send me a message via Contact-Us Page
